The Forces of Change Assessment focuses on identifying forces such as legislation, technology, and other impending changes that affect the context in which the community and its public health system operate. The assessment folds into the Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships model of community health improvement as one of the four types of assessments that informs our new Community Health Improvement Plan.
During a community meeting, participants engaged in brainstorming sessions aimed at identifying forces – such as trends, factors, or events – that are or will be influencing the health and quality of life of the community and the local public health system. By understanding and preparing for those forces of change, the Miami-Dade County community can act to ward off or reduce threats and take advantage of opportunities to protect and improve community health and the public health system.
