Worksite Wellness Forum and Awards |

The Worksite Wellness Committee of the Consortium for a Healthier Miami Dade held its first Worksite Wellness Forum and Awards luncheon on Wednesday, April 29 at the Epic Hotel in downtown Miami. The purpose of the event was to recognize local business already taking important strides to improve the health and well-being of their employees, while also educating businesses interested in worksite wellness of the cost-effective benefits of doing so. Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez was in attendance and presented the Committee with a proclamation, declaring the day as “Worksite Wellness Day” Dr. Lillian Rivera, head administrator of the Miami Dade Health Department spoke to attendees on the benefits of worksite wellness programs, and State Surgeon General Ana Viamonte Ros, MD, MPH, congratulated all nominees through a video recording.
Successful underwriting allowed the Committee to reward each of the three winners with $250 to be put towards their wellness program. In the Small Employer Group category, Seitlin Benefits was the winner (< 500 employees) in the Small Employer Group category. Community Health of South Florida was the winner in the Mid-Size Employer Groups category (5000-1,000 Employees). Florida Power & Light was the winner in the Large Employer Group category (1,000 employees +). , < 500 Employees, 5 total nominations. |
